Our Riding: Parkdale–High Park

Parkdale–High Park is a vibrant west-end Toronto community made up of many unique and wonderful neighbourhoods, including Swansea, Baby Point, Bloor West Village, High Park, The Junction, West Bend, Sunnyside, Roncesvalles Village, and Parkdale.

At the heart of our community is High Park, a 398 acre park created in 1876 by way of a bequest from John George Howard to the City of Toronto.

The federal riding of Parkdale–High Park was created during the 1976 electoral boundary redistribution from parts of Parkdale, High Park–Humber Valley, Davenport, and Spadina districts. The provincial riding was created in 1996 when provincial districts were defined to have the same borders as federal districts. It had previously been represented by portions of the High Park–Swansea, Parkdale, and York South districts.

Home to approximately 102,000 people, Parkdale–High Park has a long history of community engagement. We take pride in its diversity.

We were wonderfully served by Cheri DiNovo (MPP), first elected in 2006, and again in 2007, 2011, and 2014, and Peggy Nash (MP) from 2006 to 2008 and from 2011 to 2015.

We are proudly represented at the municipal level by Toronto City Councillors Sarah Doucette (Ward 13, Parkdale–High Park) and Gord Perks (Ward 14, Parkdale–High Park).

Our Toronto District School Board Trustee is Robin Pilkey (Ward 7, Parkdale–High Park).
